Los Angeles Harbor College President Linda M. Spink announced today (Oct. 15) her intent to retire effective in July.

In a long email to staff, Spink said "it is time for the college to have someone new take over the reins of this wonderful institution."

She said she decided to tell the chancellor and the Los Angeles Community College District now so that they "will have the opportunity to begin a search and have the new president ready to begin when I leave..."

Spink came to Harbor in 2000.

"I remember when I first came here that someone told me what a wonderful family we had here… and we surely do," she said. "Despite our struggles and our differences we do care about each other and share our common dedication in seeing students succeed."
