The Latina Leadership Network is constantly looking for ways to help the community by doing volunteer work.

Their main focus this moment is to coordinate a blood drive they are trying to host. The purpose for the replenishing the blood sent to Haiti.

"We currently have a blood shortage due to all of the blood that has been sent to help the victims of Haiti, "said Sandra Eberhardt, founder of the LLN.

The LLN may not be able to host the blood drive because of the shortage of volunteers. There must be a minimum of 15 volunteers pledging a donation for the service to be available. The LLN hopes to get more volunteers soon.

Other volunteer work that they have done is to collect clothes and shoes for the Salvation Army, to donate to the Haiti survivors.

On a lighter note they are also doing volunteer work in San Pedro, this month for the Disney "Give a Day, Get a Day" program for the tickets to the park.

For more information contact Sandra Eberhadrt at Eberhas@lahc.edu or 310-458-1798. The LLN meets weekly at the SPS center from 6-7 p.m. and 7-8 p.m.
