On Saturday May 8th, Los Angeles Harbor College hosted the Jazz Ensemble Music Festival. This concert was first started last fall semester 2009 for pace students, but now other faculty, staff and students have been attending this event. It had Renaissance, Jazz and a new rhythm called OGOGO Bones. "OGOGO bones is music that has a combination of trombones, a rhythm section, base and drums," said Lane Moore, member of the LAHC Music department.
OGOGO was first ensembled by Rod Oaks and Igor in the early 1990's. OGOGO was the first name that was given to the music, but later, "Bones" was added due to addition of the trombones in to the musical mix. Igor has been using the OGOGO format ever since, expanding it further and has presented it in numerous concerts as well as recorded CDs.
Also presented at the concert was the CD "Live in Your Bedroom," featuring jazz, the avant-grade, and electro-acoustic music.
